Applicants: 'Apply online' service in the UK will be temporarily unavailable on 14 June

12 June 2013

Our 'Apply online' service for applicants in the UK will be unavailable between 19:00 to 21:30 on Friday 14 June 2013 while we carry out essential maintenance.

During this time, applicants in the UK will not be able to submit applications, book appointments, pay for their applications online or use our 'application form finder' tool.

'Apply online' in the UK is the only service that will be affected. Applicants outside the UK will still be able to apply online using our Visa4UK service.

Employers: Changes to the highly trusted sponsor application process

From 10 June 2013 we will no longer accept paper applications or cheque payments for highly trusted sponsor (HTS) status.

This includes renewal applications from sponsors who already hold HTS status.

From 1 July you should apply online via the sponsorship management system (SMS).

Tier 4 sponsors were notified of this change on 31 May 2013, while sponsors affected by transitional arrangements have been contacted separately.

Applicants: New Tier 2 application form – 4 June 2013

Today we have published a new version of the Tier 2 points-based system application form for use on or after 4 June 2013.

This form is for use by applicants who are already in the UK.

You should use the new Tier 2 application form from 4 June 2013 to submit your application. We will continue to accept applications made on the previous version of this form up to and including 25 June 2013.

Our officers have made 5 arrests and seized £15,000 in cash during a series of raids in Croydon.

Acting on intelligence, our officers visited Game On, George Street, Croydon, at 13:00 on Tuesday 28 May, questioning individuals to check if they had the right to be in the UK.

They arrested a 31-year-old Pakistani man who had overstayed his visa. During a later search for a travel document at his home address in Eastney Road, Croydon, our officers found more than £15,000 in cash hidden in suitcases. The money was se...
